HYDROCARBON ACCOUNTING LEAD

Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator is seeking a Hydrocarbon Accounting Lead. This is a permanent staff role with competitive salary and benefits.

The Role

At our client, accurate and trusted production information is fundamental to how they operate, make decisions and create value. We are looking for a Hydrocarbon Accounting Lead to provide technical leadership across our hydrocarbon accounting activities, ensuring production, allocation and sales data remains robust, compliant and auditable.

This is a key leadership role within thei Production Optimisation team, supporting assets across the UK Continental Shelf and the Netherlands. You’ll act as the focal point for hydrocarbon accounting, ensuring critical production data is delivered with accuracy and integrity for operational, commercial and regulatory purposes.

Working closely with Production, Operations, Commercial, Finance, Metering and external stakeholders, you will help drive effective Communication across disciplines, building trusted relationships and ensuring alignment on complex allocation and reporting matters.

You’ll lead and develop a team of hydrocarbon accounting professionals, creating an environment that encourages Learning, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Through coaching and technical guidance, you’ll help build capability and resilience across the function.

We’re looking for an experienced hydrocarbon accounting professional with strong leadership capability, sound technical judgement and the confidence to influence across a complex asset portfolio.

Leadership & Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for hydrocarbon accounting, allocation, reconciliation and production reporting activities.

Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, creating clarity of priorities and accountability.

Build strong relationships across Operations, Commercial, Finance, Metering and external stakeholders.

Ensure production data, reporting processes and controls meet internal governance and regulatory requirements.

Drive continuous improvement, automation and standardisation across hydrocarbon accounting processes.

Support audits, assurance activities and the effective management of hydrocarbon accounting risks and issues.

Experience & Qualifications

Extensive experience in hydrocarbon or production accounting within the oil and gas sector, including UKCS experience.

Strong technical knowledge of production allocation, reconciliation, measurement and reporting processes.

Experience working with hydrocarbon accounting and production data systems such as EnergySys, Axis, PI, Power Query or similar platforms.

Understanding of the commercial, contractual and regulatory frameworks associated with hydrocarbon allocation.

Proven experience leading teams or providing recognised technical leadership within a multi-disciplinary environment.

Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on integrity, compliance and continuous improvement.
