SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER
Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator is seeking 2 Senior Process Engineers. These are 2 year PAYE contract roles based at Barrow-in-Furness.
Job Overview:
Provides high-quality process engineering support ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of process systems and equipment.
Key Role Deliverables:
Provide process engineering support to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation process systems.
Monitor and optimise process performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, energy use, and production reliability.
Support asset operations by troubleshooting equipment issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (ASME, API, ISO, local regulations, company standards).
Support inspection, testing, and condition monitoring programs to maintain asset integrity and extend equipment life.
Provide technical input to capital projects and modifications, including specifications, design reviews, and commissioning activities.
Review and approve process work scopes, job packs, and method statements for execution.
Oversee contractors and vendors, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to technical and contractual requirements.
Support turn around, commissioning, and start-up activities as required
Participate in safety studies and risk assessments (HAZOP, HAZIDs, LOPA) and implement safeguards and improvements.
Support change management processes by assessing impacts of operational or design changes.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, datasheets, calculations, and operating/maintenance procedures.
Act as a Lead investigator using Kelvin TopSet investigation techniques to support business requirements.
Any other associated duties as reasonably required.
Competence & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Proven experience with onshore and offshore oil and gas operations, maintenance, and asset integrity practices.
Strong knowledge of process equipment used in oil and gas production facilities, including compression, dehydration, nitrogen removal, sweetening and condensate stabilisation.
Offshore safety case and permit-to-work systems
Industry standards (API, ASME, ISO, DNV where applicable)
Qualifications:
Educated to degree level, ideally MEng in Chemical Engineering
Chartered Engineer preferable
